About Alpesh Patel
Alpesh is the founding Managing Director of Agile Partners Asset Management,
one of the best performing hedge funds in the world in 2004 - its founding
year - investing in equities. In 2005 he took on a public service role too -
'International Dealmaker' for the UK Government's Global Entrepreneur
Programme. In that role he is responsible for searching intellectual
property in India of exceptional potential and of strategic importance to
the United Kingdom.
His first stock market floatation was in 2006 - AllTrue Investments Plc.
Alpesh also has his own investment software: 'Sharescope Alpesh Patel
Special Edition'.
Alpesh was Visiting Fellow in Business & Industry, Corpus Christi College,
Oxford University (2001/2). He has judged numerous business and investment
competitions and won stock-picking competitions on Channel 4, Bloomberg and
Financial Times. His stock picks appear in Barclays newsletter to clients as
the only non-in-house analyst - a role he also performed for Merrill Lynch
HSBC. He is involved with several Oxford Business School Committees.
Alpesh started a weekly column in the Financial Times in 1999 and has had
over 200 columns on investing published in the paper as well as being a
regular markets commentator on CNBC Asia, CNN, BBC. Alpesh also co-hosted a
weekly show for three years on Bloomberg TV cross-examining CEOs of listed
companies on their earnings quality - pre-Enron!
Alpesh was on the UK-India Roundtable, established by the UK and Indian
Prime Ministers to examine how to expand all facets of bilateral relations.
He is also on the board of the Indo-British Partnership and a Trustee of the
Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House).
